Most Memorable Experience

Learning about the different types of photography and artists had a really big impact on my learning throughout the semester. I had no idea how many different types of photography there were before I took this course. There are so many different things that can make a photo special. Perspective for instance, I found myself taking more pictures from different view points after and during this semester. This added something new to my photos that cannot be captured just by taking a regular picture at eye level. I was introduced into a new world of art, and I will never take a picture the same way as before again. This semester has really changed how I take my pictures.

I am most proud of my hobbies assignment, it was really amazing to do what I love and actually get to take pictures of it. I love to travel so when I was on my trip I tried to take as many photos as possible. It wasn't hard to take amazing shots in Paris, Monaco, Venice, and Florence. I felt like I could express myself by photographing all of the things that I have always wanted to see and explore. This really inspired me and my work. This assignment has really helped me become a better photographer.

Who Am I?

Baking is my passion, it takes me to a different place, I can relax but I’m also extremely focused. I’m always looking to improve my baking skills. Its a nice way to spend an afternoon, baking not only keeps me busy but it also pays off in the end, I’m left with something sweet. Making new things is always my favorite thing to do, I’m very eager to learn and do better each time.

Culture Clash

Purpose:

  • To create a Clash of Cultures by creating your own Photo montage, combining images from Beijing, China and Yarmouth, Maine, USA;

  • To further develop your Photoshop knowledge and skills;
  • To create a “surreal” landscape by montaging a variety of photographs;
  • To know, use, and understand the Four Collage Techniques to in your Photo Montage: Juxtaposition/fragmentation, Point of View, Scale Change, Overlapping

The successes of this project were the sizes of each picture. It was very difficult to get the size of each picture exactly how I wanted them to be though. Another challenge that I had was placing the images in good spots. Sometimes I had to change where I was putting images because I didn’t like the way it looked. I learned how to incorporate images with others and make them look good together.

Free Choice, Jillian

When I created this image I heard the dripping of the rain gently falling from the roof. I smelled freshly mown grass from across the street. I saw the sun coming out for a minute which made things perfect, and beautifully colored flowers that were blooming. I felt the cold wind rushing past me when I bent over to take the picture.
